Xanax.
Xanax (alprazolam) can be prescribed for people that need to be taking potent medications to keep their depression and anxiety under control. This drug is supposed to be taken for as long as recommended and you will need to abstain from drinking alcohol or grapefruit juice, as those products have been reported to cause interactions with Xanax. The following drugs can also cause interactions and should therefore be reported to your health care provider before you start the treatment: tranquilizers, diltiazem, cimetidine, ergotamine, antihistamines, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, isoniazid, clarithromycin, sedatives, seizure medications, antidepressants, antifungals, erythromycin, mental illness drugs, fluvoxamine, oral contraceptives, and sertraline. Your doctor will also be supposed to know if you have any possible contraindications or conditions that may require a dose adjustment – for example, kidney disease, liver disease, a history of depression or suicidal thoughts, a history of addiction to drugs or alcohol, glaucoma, or any breathing problems. It's important hat you take Xanax exactly as recommended and avoid using more of it. An overdose of this medicine can be fatal and the following symptoms can display: confusion, drowsiness, problems with coordination, and coma.
